Здравствуйте, гость ( Вход | Регистрация )
Welcome! The Forum is proud to announce its long-awaited English version, which will allow the communicating to academics and buffs alike on all matters related to the civil and military history, re-enacting, toy soldiers making and collecting, books discussion and much more! Being a “little brother” of one of the world renowned www.napoleonic-series.org., the English section of the Russian Forum will continue its long established traditions by bringing together various proposals, ideas and controversial points of views. We offer the following rubrics (subsections):
History: all aspects, including archival and museum work
First, to be able to use the our Forum, please set up a profile, which must contain your real name and a valid e-mail address
Next, consider our rules; but they are simple. Please be inclusive – try to convey your topic in a way equally understandable for both a schoolboy and a college professor. When posting a picture, text or a web-link - always include your source, wherever applicable. Be professional – speak of the topic, critique opponent’s opinion but not the opponent himself. Be patient – because of the time difference, allow some extra time for an answer. You should post in English or – if some of you would like to practice his/her Russian – we will be glad to help your practice!
So, start posting – make yourself at home!

Dear Friends and INS Fellows,
I am pleased to announce a mini-Congress in the town of Castiglion Fiorentino in Tuscany, 24-25 March, 2018. The town is about one hour by train from Florence, perhaps a little longer from Rome. Alain Borghini has donated his substantial collection of original Napoleonic medallions (over 900) to the Castiglionese Museum, which is partially housed in a 14th century tower. The permanent exhibition will take place in four rooms. You can see the museum here: www.museicastiglionfiorentino.it/en/ Alain has worked with local officials to put together an outstanding program for the INS and I very much hope that a number of our Fellows will be able to participate. The proposed schedule is as follows: Saturday March 24th: 11:00 a.m. opening of the INS conference 1:00 p.m. light lunch with local products offered to the conference's members. 2:00-3:00 p.m. second part of the conference 3:30-5:00 p.m. private guided tour to the exhibit 5:30 p.m. official public grand opening ceremony with the Mayor, etc. 7:30 p.m. gala dinner reserved to INS members and local authorities Sunday March 25th: Visit by train (about one hour) to Florence and guided tour to Stibbert museum where we will view several items of Napoleonic memorabilia. No doubt there will be time to see some other sights as well. 9:00 p.m. Local Theatre: aerial dance and classic ballet show (organized by a local dance school) of Revolutionary and Napoleonic music to close the official ceremonies. As you can see, we have about three hours for presentations. I would like to see presentations on the image of Napoleon, Napoleonic propaganda, or anything having to do with Napoleon in Italy. Of course, I will consider other topics as well. We have never done something like this before, and I am excited with this opportunity. I will devise a registration form after the new year, but please let me know as soon as possible if you will attend. With my best Napoleonic greetings J.
